Victor Osimen
Manchester United reportedly wants a proven goalscoller this summer, with prolific Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen likely to be one of the names on the list.
This said the Red Devils are linked to Osimhen and Sports Lisbon frontman Victor Gyoker, according to a Manchester Evening News report.
But the key to Osimhen is that his club Napoli is said to want to sell him this summer.
But if United can definitely afford this deal, the men’s report says they can commit to spending more than £110 million on Matthews Cunya and Brian Mbemo.
Manchester United may need to sell to buy Victor Osimen
Osimhen certainly won’t be cheaper. There are no trades yet for Mbeumo, but going with Cunha might be another expensive deal.
That certainly means United also needs to go out-go if they can afford a celebrity like Osimhen, who has been one of Europe’s best centre forwards in the past few years.
Osimhen finished the 2024/25 season with a total of 40 goals and six assists in all club and country competitions, but has scored a total of 85 goals in the past three seasons.

Osimhen looks like something like signing United to offer upgrades for struggling performers like Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.
The 26-year-old seems determined to continue playing in the competitive Europa League, as he recently turned down a big buck from Saudi Arabian club Al Giral, according to Italian footballer Alfredo Pedula.
Victor Osimhen was able to take Man Utd to another level
In the past, United have had some great strikers like Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persy, Rood Van Nistellouis and Andrew Cole.
These days, they even had things like Romerlukaku and Marcus Rashford as players who could score over 20 goals in a season.
However, this current aspect is not enough before sufficient, and Osimhen could be a game-changer in that sense, making the Reuben Amorim aspect far more dangerous, giving them hope to return to the top four.
