Newcastle United are tied to the moves of Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford during the summer transfer.
According to an Athletic report, they want to keep John Raddy at the club as well. The experienced goalkeeper was extremely useful for Newcastle behind the scenes, with manager Eddie Howe labeling him as an important player for the club.
In February, he said: “John is great behind the scenes. He’s fully embraced everything we asked him to do. He’s in the youth game. He’s really invested in helping people.
“I’m sure he’s using his experience in some way. John was an important part of what he did this year.”
Newcastle has plans for Radi
Reports from the Athletic claim that if Newcastle signs the 22 year old this summer, he hopes to keep him at the club as a potential role model for Trafford. They believe Radi can help the young goalkeeper settle into life at the club.
It will be interesting to see if you can secure an agreement with an experienced goalkeeper. Newcastle is currently offering contract talks with goalkeepers, and it is still unclear whether all parties will be able to secure an agreement.
James Trafford is a quality addition
Meanwhile, Trafford has done very well in the Burnley Championship and he will be a great long-term investment for Newcastle. He has the tools to develop into a quality Premier League goalkeeper.
Premier League regular football could help him improve further and fulfill his potential. Newcastle has exciting projects and could be an attractive destination for him. It will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with Burnley in the coming weeks.
Clarett has been promoted to the Premier League and it’s not easy to convince them to sell one of the best players. Newcastle is reportedly willing to pay players £30 million. But it’s no surprise that Burnley decides to ask him for more money.
