Leeds United are reportedly waiting for a “great” player to make a decision about his future as they are about to snap him up during the summer transfer period.
Leeds needs to be “smart” this summer
With the whites returning to the Premier League a few years later, supporters will naturally be desperate to see the best quality players heading towards Elland Road.
Leeds cannot simply spend a huge amount of money and be reckless. Journalist Adam Pope said he hopes the club will be “smart” more than anything else this summer.
“He saw what everyone can spend in the Premier League and said Leeds might be looking at £100 million to spend on the top edge, which was in the championship for two years so this really doesn’t go.
“You can’t be hard, so people talking about what the owners are putting in rangers and what they don’t put in Leeds – there’s a limit. £100 million is not right.
Leeds continues to link with several exciting players, including Udinese’s centre back Jaka Bijol. Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has linked his switch to Elland Road and is appearing as an upgrade to Illan Meslier.
Leeds is ready to move on to “good” defender
According to ExpressLeeds remains interested in signing Millwall centre back Jafetttanganga, but they are waiting for him to decide about his future. He has a £1.2 million release clause that can be triggered this summer.
The whites are far from the only clubs signing the 26-year-olds, but Premier League clubs, Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Burnley, all mentioned as options, are awaiting the attack.
Tanganga could be a sensible acquisition by Leeds ahead of next season, and was the first to explode in Tottenham during an emerging year.
He then sparkled for Millwall, becoming a key figure in defense of 40 at last season’s championship, and was welcomed by Alex Neal for his performance in 2024/25.
“He’s the ultimate professional jack. After the game, he almost always left for the last time. He and Wes (Harding) experience the ritual they have obtained in terms of recovery. It’s the moment the game ends. He prepares for everyone.
