  • Is Vitor Pereira likely to be seduced to leave the wolves for Benfica?
  • What are the difficult times for wolves in the future?

Wolf manager Vitor Pereira has linked Benfica’s work, and Mick Brown tells Football Insider that he can see Portuguese tacticians being seduced by the opportunity.

Pereira has managed Porto, Olympiacos, Fenerbafe and more over a career spanning over 20 years and is extremely experienced.

He also has a decent job with the Wolves, earning 48% of the games he handled with Molineux since taking over in December 2024. This is the best since the 1940s.

Even if the wolves didn’t have the best season in 2024/25, that’s an impressive start for Pereira. Pereira is not someone who doesn’t want to lose.

Still, Brown raised this concern with football insiders as he responded to the links with manager Benfica’s job.

Is Vitor Pereira likely to be seduced to leave the wolves for Benfica?

“Pereira will be seduced by the interest from Benfica,” he told Football Insider.

“He will know if he thinks he can continue the work he did next season.

“Benfica is a huge club and can give him the opportunity to go back to his country and manage it, so that is always something to consider.

“At this point, I have a bit of a sense of uncertainty about wolves.

“They lose Cunha, Ait-Nouri, and the manager will know if there is something to follow.

“So I’m sure he’ll ask for assurances from the board about what he can do.

“If they spend time replacing all these players, he’s probably going to want to stay, but it looks like a difficult summer for them.

“I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he made a big offer to the table and left to do the job.”

What are the difficult times for wolves in the future?

The Wolves have recently lost several key players, with Pedro Neto joining Chelsea last summer, and Mateus Cunya and Rayan Ait Nouri leaving for Manchester United and Manchester City, respectively.

If they lose Pereira too, it’s hard to see them there are enough to survive in the Premier League next season.
