  • Real Madrid would hope that the issue will not be bothered
  • Xabi Alonso’s team failed to win the Club World Cup match

According to the club’s official statement, Real Madrid is in great shock after confirming that Killian Mbappe has been hospitalized due to an acute case of gastroenteritis.

With Real Madrid currently winning the Club World Cup title, the news is a major blow to their hopes of winning the competition this summer.

“Our player Kylian Mbappe has acute gastroenteritis and is hospitalized for various tests and treatments.” The club’s statement was read.

Real Madrid would hope that the issue will not be bothered

The French superstar has undergone comprehensive medical testing and is currently receiving the necessary treatment at the hospital. No further information has been made regarding the expected period of his absence.

Mbappe’s sudden withdrawal is just before the Real Madrid campaign begins at the Club World Cup.

Gonzalo Garcia looked comfortable as he replaced him on the team, but Madrid undoubtedly misses Mbappe’s presence during a tournament filled with global attention.

This will put more pressure on other attacks and creative players like Rodrygo and Arda Guler to take responsibility for scoring and create opportunities.

The Los Blancos began the competition in a 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal side.

News of Mbappe’s hospitalization are unexpected and concerning, but it remains unclear whether he will recover in time to feature in the tournament in depth.

As Real Madrid prepares to face Pachuca on the fixtures of the next Club World Cup later this weekend, all eyes will be in the fitness of the Star Striker.

If Mbappe is deemed unfit to play, manager Xabi Alonso is expected to turn to Garcia again to lead the line.
