Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes the gunner should try to sign the versatile Real Madrid attacker Rodrigo.

Brazil International has not always been a regular starter, as there are so many ways to compete for the Bernabeu location, so it immediately makes sense for him to move on.

Petit is a huge fan of Rodrigo’s qualities, and Arsenal claims that they need to spend cash on top players like this.

Mikel Arteta has brought Arsenal so close to massive silverware in recent years, so this will definitely be an important transfer window for the club.

Rodrigo can play as a left, right or center striker, so if you’re feeling uneasy in Real Madrid, it’s easy to try and dive.

The 24-year-old has finished with 13 goals and eight assists in all club competitions this season, and if he plays regularly he has certainly been able to contribute even more.

Arsenal will certainly get some pretty important upgrades with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Torosad if Rodrigo comes in.

“As a player I love Rodrigo,” Petit told Talksportbet.

He added: “I love his commitment on the pitch and I can score and support.

“I think he brings something great to Arsenal.

“Benjamin Sesco is an option. Mohamed Kudus is another. There are Alexander Isaac and Nico Williams, but all the players Arsenal faces competition,” the 1998 World Cup winner added.

“Arsenal has to do something important. They have to spend a lot of money. They don’t have any options, but they put that money on the table and make sure this is the season when Arsenal wins a major trophy.”
