Tottenham fans hope that key players will stay in the interest of the Euro Giants

Tottenham is entering a new era this summer with Thomas Frank at the helm, and for this they are expected to retain one of their most important players, Christian Romero.

Romero has been attracting strong interest from Atletico Madrid in recent weeks, with the La Liga Giants planning to try and praise him from Tottenham. However, that’s not easy considering Champions League football will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season after the success of the Europa League.

Talking to Givemesport, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Romero is unlikely to leave Tottenham during the summer transfer period.

“Atletico loves players so they want to bring Kati Romero to the club one day. Simeone is a huge fan, but my understanding is that Tottenham, Tottenham and Tottenham in the Champions League are now new projects and Tottenham has not lost a leader like Kati Romero this summer.

“So it’s going to be very difficult to get players in the summer transfer window. Daniel Levy wants to keep players at the club from what I’ve heard. And Thomas Frank sees Romero as an important part of this team not only from a technical standpoint, but also for leadership.

“So I want to give it a try at Atletico. They’ve always wanted to try it this year, but in the past, but at this point I think it’s going to be very complicated, especially when Tottenham is in the Champions League.

“If they lost the final in the final at Bilbao, that would be a different story. But I think it would be very difficult to be in the Champions League right now.”

Tottenham has a reason to be sure Romero will stay, and they hold all the cards. Atletico may give it a try, but it’s unlikely they’ll reach a rating – if any.
