The 2025/26 season on the Newcastle United horizon appears to be another exciting thing.
Eddie Howe’s Toon will return to the European elite in the Champions League. We hope to be able to compete for more silverware after smashing the Trophy Hoodoo when lifting the EFL Cup at Liverpool’s expense last season.
So to increase his equally successful 25/26 chances, Howe knows he needs to support a chaotic transfer market.
Newcastle remains interested in moving Premier League wingers
Toon reportedly reportedly will be made this summer from Brighton to sign Joao Pedro.
Another target is Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford. He plans to leave Old Trafford behind forever after an impressive loan spell at Aston Villa.
However, in order to put that move on one side, Newcastle is interested in adding Nottingham Forest ace Anthony Elanga to camp this summer, shock exchanges are even potentially signed on the cards.
Certainly, the report states that by “increasing interest” in the winger, the procedure can be smoothed out to Harvey Burns for Forest.
Including it in Barnes’ deal would cut the £50 million valuation of the former Manchester United Forward price tag.
Elanga might also try to switch over the appeal of Champions League football. Hau is also desperate to land Swedish internationals to hunt down Pacey, a new option to bolster attackers.
Why does Elanga buy better than Rashford?
Snapping Elanga’s services certainly means that magpies don’t have to come back for offensive targets like Rashford, given that the 23-year-old is seen as an upgrade to his former Red Devils teammate after the Rashford’s ferocious campaign.
After all, if Hau wants a rich pace, he will hit the gold by picking up Elanga. Last season, this incredible breakaway goal left him with many United shirts in the dust, punishing his former employer with even more clinical finishing.
For good measure he was one of the fastest players in English football’s top flight last season.
Behind this counterattack magic, Elanga justly described himself as “one of the fastest players in PL”, and frequently backed up the outstanding Swedes that are often not meaningful strikes or assists.

Rashford shined from Old Trafford last season in Villa’s temporary book, but it’s clear that Elanga is a better pick, with the 5-foot-10 winger signing up for the nine of Rashford last season with a much greater goal contribution than the United outcast.
In addition to that, Elanga has added 14 more goals, helping to wear forest reds from previous seasons.
Moreover, unlike Rashford, which is primarily the left winger, Forest Speedster can offer howe either Frank’s option if necessary. The £50 million rating target offers up to 63 career games, with up to 63 career games, earning the left 55.
It has been praised for being “special” by Forest Boss Nuno Espirito Santo. This could be the platform where the Winger wants to strut his thing in the Champions League and beyond.
