According to Charles Watts, Arsenal still has a breakthrough in contract talks with Thomas Party, and his future is still open.
His latest writing Catch off side In the column, Watts explained that if they need to replace parts this summer, gunners can also rely on talented young defensive midfield players like Lucian Agume.
Partey is about to finish his contract at Emirates Stadium, but it’s not clear whether he’s likely to move elsewhere in this window.
Watts says it has not been fully decided yet, explaining that the situation is still open.
Arsenal could still keep Thomas Party, Charles Watts says
“The situation for Thomas Party at Arsenal remains open,” Watts said.
“My information at the time of writing is that no final decision has been made and the contract consultations have not been completely over.
“Obviously, the longer this lasts without a breakthrough, the more likely we are to see Part as a free agent this summer, but as far as I know, we are not at that stage yet.
“So, there may still be breakthroughs in the debate, but it needs to happen quickly, as both sides want to clarify the situation.
“If Part is left, Arsenal will have to enter the market to bring another midfielder.
“They’re already sorting big money exchanges at Zubimendi, but I don’t think that’s enough if Partey is going through the exit door and chasing Jorginho this summer.
“They will need someone else, perhaps a young player they can develop in the next few years.
“We’ve seen Sevilla’s Lucian Agume mention as a potential target, and I think it can fit the profile of what they need.”
Where is the next one after Thomas Party?
As reported by Catch off sideThe recent John Menzies part has made some contacts with AC Milan and Fennelvers.
Ghana International will be an attractive opportunity for free agency. Over the past few years it has shown that Arsenal can run the game mid-round.
There are few indications that the party will slow down as you age. Most AFC supporters certainly hope that they could keep him.
