Nelly Korda posted flashback photos on social media from an impossible, unforgettable day. There were many highs in 2024, but the days of Korda in Seattle were extraordinarily low. After the shocking second round 81 shed tears with KPMG female PGA, she was bitten by a dog the following day while in a coffee shop.
The incident forced the world’s No. 1 to withdraw from the Aramco Team Series event for the Women’s European Tour held at the Centurion Club in London.
Korda shared no photos at the time, besides saying she was bitten by her thigh.
Interestingly, Korda was one of three LPGA players who suffered from a dog bite in 2024. European Solheim Cup captain Anna Nordqvist was bitten early last year while walking on a beach in Thailand. At the end of the 2023 season, American Allison Lee, the hottest player on the tour, was slowly in the end of January with a bear named Black Pomeranian, her boyfriend’s rescue dog. The ordeal lands Lee in the hospital, where she eventually needs surgery to get rid of the infection.
The injury forced Lee to withdraw from Aramco Saudi Arabia’s Ladies International.
