With Bryan Mbeumo scheduled to receive medical care next week, Manchester United reportedly focused on another summer goal.
Latest Man UTD goalkeeper search
The watch is engraved in Andre Onana’s location, whether he likes Manchester United’s No. 1 or not. The Red Devils immediately began searching for upgrades this summer, but things didn’t move as quickly as the likes of Matheus Cunha or Mbeumo, but their pursuit is ongoing.
Several names have emerged as candidates for the roles, the most prominent Emiliano Martinez and Diogo Costa. Both are tough upgrades for Onana, but choosing which direction United will head is a big problem. If Statman Dave’s verdict is something that passes, it must be the latter, not Aston Villa’s No. 1.
Costa is certainly a realistic option. Porto goalkeeper has reportedly already given the green light to travel to Old Trafford this summer, and Ineos has to look to the Portuguese club and the negotiation table.
That said, Costa isn’t cheap, and it may prove to be the ultimate stumbling block for the Red Devils. The release clause reportedly amounts to £64 million, which forces United to splash similar prices for goalkeepers who are already spending on Cunha and Mbeumo.

Man Utd ready to submit Carnesecchi offer
As reported by Soccer Italy, Ineos is currently ready to file an offer of 40 million euros (£34 million) to sign Marco Carnesecchi from Atalanta in a bid that includes an add-on to approach the Serie A club’s 50 million euros (£43 million) valuation.
Like Costa, Carnecchi is only 24 years old and has already shown many signs that he will upgrade Onana immediately if Manchester United completes their move this summer.

In some key areas, Atalanta goalkeeper surpassed Onana last season. But what stands out most is his incredibly high save rate, and the best context to add to it is the fact that Allison Becker only controls 72%. This is the level of the player United signs.
Called “excellent” by getting Italian football news, the 6-foot-3 Carnesecchi was recently called to the Italian senior side after appearing on the U21S and forced to sit off the bench to watch, but eventually turns his eyes to abdicate Gianluigi donnarumma.
But before it comes, the move towards Old Trafford may be calling his name. It is still unknown if the goalkeeper will answer the call.
