Manchester United will have the opportunity to bolster their attack with Fiorentina striker Moise Keene this summer, but the final decision will be made by manager Reuben Amorim.
Seeing his attackers struggling with the club, Amorim is looking for a new striker to lead his offense next season.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are inconsistent and the goalscoring issues faced by Red Devils last season are well documented.
They finished 15th in the league last season, and the difference in goals is negative. Signing a proven goal scorer this summer is a priority for them.
Man United provided Fiorentina striker Moise Keene
Matheus Cunha has already arrived at the club, and Brentford’s Brian M Beumo is approaching the move, but spending on attackers may not stop there.
According to Stretty News, Kean’s representative provided the 25-year-old Italian striker to Man United, and saw the club as the next step following the most prolific season of his career.
The Fiorentina star scored 25 goals for Italian clubs in all competitions last season, reestablishing himself as a clinical finisher a few years later.
While Keene’s chances of arrival are interesting, this decision will largely depend on Amorim’s assessment of the striker’s suitability within his system.
Portuguese managers are known for paying attention to tactical fit and squad harmony, and Keene’s move would require attackers to meet that standard.
Keene is heading for his career
That said, his improvements at Fiorentina suggest that he can adapt well, both technically and tactically, provided the right environment.
The attackers have also linked this summer with United’s transition to Premier League rival Arsenal. He has a £43.5 million release clause on the contract.
At this stage there will be no advanced negotiations with Fiorentina, but the possibility of signing Kean remains an option that can be investigated.
With Liam Dellup signing Victor Gyoker earlier this summer, falling behind Arsenal in the race, the Red Devils begin exploring alternative options at this point, and Keene presents the opportunity.
