West Ham will need a big summer transfer window, especially if many major players are set to leave to improve the disappointing show during the 2024-25 season. However, there are a number of promising targets.

One area West Ham needs to deal with this summer is midfield. While Lucas Paqueta appears to be leaving, Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez are also those expected to move further from London Stadium.

And West Ham lined up some exciting talents when it came to replacing at least one of the latter pairs.

According to TeamTalk, West Ham is a favorite to sign Rocco Lights, who is expected to leave Borussia Monche Gladbach this summer. The 23-year-old is a German standout performer at the recent Under-21 European Championships, with England appearing as the winner in the final against Rights and his teammates.

Brighton and Fulham also took part in the race, but RB Leipzig was able to consider keeping Reitz in the Bundesliga. But at this stage, West Ham is leading the race to take him to the Premier League, and they have already entered into talks to sign the midfielder.

Reitz will be available for just £17 million this summer. This figure is the release clause for his Borussia Monchengladbach contract. That’s not affordable for West Ham. West Ham could at least double if Paketa leaves the club.

For now, it remains to be seen whether West Ham will be able to complete the Rights deal. But if that were the case, he would be a great addition to Graham Potter’s team.
