The seasoned left winger, who was acquired from the Boston Bruins during the March trade deadline in his second season with the Panthers, has agreed to a six-year contract extension reportedly valued at nearly $32 million.
At 37 years old, Marchand was traded to the powerful Panthers after spending 16 seasons with the Bruins. His previous eight-year deal with Boston, which began in 2016, expired this offseason. When contract negotiations with Boston fell through, the Bruins opted to trade him.
