Andy Murray doesn’t know if he’ll return to coaching

Wimbledon two-time champion Andy Murray admitted he’s not sure if the coaching was for him after a brief stint as coach of former rival Novak Djokovic.

Murray, who also won the 2012 US Open, retired from playing after the 2024 Parisiolmpics and has been loosely involved in the sport ever since.

He challenged coaching in November 2024, partnering with Djokovic, the 24 major winner who won the final at the Flushing Meadows and the success of his first Wimbledon in 2013.

However, that coaching journey ended in May 2025, but he wasn’t sure he would return in Serbia and Malay in just six months.

At Andy Murray Center Stage, the final foot of his four-stop tour, at the New Wimbledon Theatre, Murray said:

Murray has attracted a huge audience of 1,700 people to the theater ahead of Wimbledon’s 2025 edition, with guests including Ir Gareth Southgate and fellow tennis icon Billy Jean King.

The show was hosted by commentator Andrew Cotter, and John McEnroe was on stage for the Scottish pair.

The three-time Wimbledon champion told Murray: “Andy, I hope you continue to be involved in the sport.

“This sport requires you and I want you to be around somewhat regularly.”
