Jorge Martin Drops Hints on His MotoGP Comeback Timeline

MotoGP world champion Jorge Martin is hinting at his comeback to the racing scene after missing nearly the entire season due to injuries. Martin, who was sidelined after sustaining injuries during the first preseason test in Malaysia, suffered further setbacks following a crash in training before the 2025 season opener in Thailand, which kept him out until April.

He made a brief return at the Qatar Grand Prix but crashed again and was hit by Fabio di Giannantonio’s sliding bike, breaking a rib and experiencing air pressure issues that delayed his return. Nearly three months later, Martin is eyeing a comeback on the Aprilia RS-GP but has been ruled out of the upcoming German Grand Prix after a recent medical evaluation.

Instead, Martin is expected to make his return at the Czech Grand Prix from July 18th to 20th, marking MotoGP’s first visit to the Brno circuit since 2020, when Martin raced in Moto2 with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. This race weekend will serve as a significant learning opportunity for Martin, who has limited experience with the RS-GP and has never competed on a MotoGP bike at Brno. A July 1 Instagram story showed Martin studying the FP4 session from the 2020 Czech GP, signaling his eagerness and confidence to return by round 12 of the 2025 season.

Fan Take: Jorge Martin’s anticipated return is crucial for MotoGP enthusiasts eager to see the reigning champion back in action, potentially reshaping the competitive dynamics of the season. His comeback also highlights the resilience and determination prevalent in the sport, promising thrilling races ahead.
