Bryan Mbeumo is a player who has dominated the news about Manchester United for the past few weeks, with the attacker firmly on the lips of all his supporters.
The Brentford star has become one of the main talismans in the Premier League after registering 20 goals in the capital under Thomas Frank throughout the season.
As a result of his scoring format, the Red Devils are firm in the race to land the 25-year-old, with two separate bids to sign this window.
The latest offer, roughly £62.5 million, including the add-on, was rejected, and Keith Andrews offered £70 million to say goodbye to the Cameroonian during the offseason.
He also states his desire to move to Old Trafford this summer, and could link with a new striker if he moves to join Reuben Amorim’s side ahead of 2025/26.
The latest on United Hunt for United’s new striker this summer
Victor Osimhen has reappeared on United’s shortlist this summer. The Nigerian has been the subject of interest after scoring 37 goals for Galatasaray last season.
Despite the Swedes expressing their desire to join Arsenal, he is not the only striker in their sight.
However, according to the latest updates from Football Insider, another name has been in the mix over the last few days.
They claimed that the English forward appears to be keen on his return to the Premier League, and returned to his hometown after joining Saudi Arabian side Al Ali within 12 months.
The report also says that the Red Devils hierarchy has seen the 29-year-old in recent weeks and that Tony hopes to join the club after scoring 30 goals in 44 appearances in the Saudi Arabian League.
Why United’s latest targets become Mbeumo’s perfect ST
As mentioned earlier, Mbeumo was a player who caught the eye of many supporters across the country, and his talent led to United’s strong interest in his signature.
However, he often stars in right-wing roles. This is the position he has to switch if he moves to Old Trafford, and is probably operating in 10 roles behind the striker.
That’s a position he can thrive under Amorim, especially if the Red Devils can secure a deal with Cameroon International along with former teammate Tony.
The 25-year-old previously starred alongside the London English striker, and the pair worked side by side in four seasons, with honeybees winning promotions from the championship and then ensuring their best flight status.
In the 2020/21 campaign, the pair signed up with a combination of 59 goals and assists, with Tony 31 times, with Mbeumo providing 10 assists, with both Tallies being the best at the club.

The pair went through both categories in three of their four years together at Brentford, but there was the only exception in 2023/24 after being banned for betting a crime by the striker.
Despite not appearing together anymore in the modern era, Tony, labelled “sensational” by journalist Simon Stone, scored 30 times in 2024 in 2024, 10 more than Mbemo’s tally.
However, each pair’s goal score lilies, which have been paired since last season, are higher than the Red Devils, who are managed as a team as a whole, showcasing the additional threat the pair poses to Old Trafford.
The British have experience finding the net on top flights in the UK as the former honeybee striker appears to be hoping to join Amorim’s side this summer.
If Mbeumo moves, the pair will replicate the form they produced in the capital and once again play a major role together, helping United push their place in Europe next season.
