Quarterfinals of the Club World Cup on Friday

Chelsea started strong, controlling the game early but squandered chances. They ended the first half leading by one goal, thanks to a strike from Cole Palmer in the 16th minute.

After the break, Palmeiras made a comeback facilitated by young winger Estevao.

Just seven minutes later, a cross from Gusto hit defender Bruno Fuchs, throwing off goalkeeper Weverton and resulting in an own goal as the ball ricocheted off his back into the net.

Chelsea is set to take on another Brazilian team, Fluminense, in the semi-finals in New York on Tuesday.

The outcome of this match is significant for soccer fans as it showcases the intense competition at the highest levels of club football. Chelsea’s resilience and Palmeiras’ youth talent could have lasting implications for their respective teams and contribute to the evolving landscape of global soccer.
