Sixth-placed Madison Keys fell into the third round of Wimbledon after losing in straight sets to 6-3, 6-3 Laura Siegemund on Friday. Unseeded Siegemund advances to round 16 with decisive upset.

The German player established an early lead in the first frame as the keys were unable to close the gap and dropped the set. The second set had a similar theme as Key tried to climb from the 5-3 hole, but Siegemund closed the door to win.

At 37, Siegemund became the second oldest female player to reach the 16th round this year. Siegemund has yet to drop a set in the tournament and has won his first two matches against Payton Starnes and Leila Fernandez. She will face Solana Sierra on Sunday for a quarterfinal spot.

Keys’ Wimbledon campaign ends after a stack of fierce battle victories over Elena Gabriella Loose and Olga Danilovich. Keys’ losses add to the notable number of confusion at Wimbledon. This includes No. 2 Coco Gauff and No. 3 Jessica Pegula who have been crashing since the second round. World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka is the final remaining top five seed player in the women’s singles bracket.

The men’s singles event at Wimbledon saw seeded Americans Tommy Paul (13) and Francistier Four (12) and British No. 4 Jack Draper all finished the tournament in the second round.
