Tyson Fury Declares Trilogy Bout with Oleksandr Usyk; David Benavidez to Face Anthony Yarde in Upcoming Clash

Tyson Fury’s wish seems to be coming true as he announced on Thursday that his third fight against Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled for April 18th at Wembley Stadium in England. This announcement follows news from Torki Aralsiv, who revealed that Fury, the former unified heavyweight champion, is ending his brief retirement. Aralsiv shared on Instagram that Fury is back and preparing for the Riyadh season in 2026 with renewed motivation.

Despite previously stating in May that he would remain retired, Fury has insisted this week that Usyk’s challenge pulled him back into the ring. Fury emphasized that his interest in a trilogy bout hinged on the fight taking place in his hometown, feeling he was unfairly treated in their second bout. He told Sky Sports he wanted a fair contest and outcome, believing he won the second fight by the fifth round after reviewing it multiple times, although the decision went against him.

So far, Fury is 0-2 against Usyk. The latter secured the undisputed heavyweight champion title in May 2024 by winning the decision and then won again unanimously in their December rematch.

In related boxing news, David Benavidez has joined the Riyadh season, leaving Premier Boxing Champion to join Aralsiv’s promotion. According to Ring Magazine, now owned by Aralsiv, Benavidez will defend his WBC Light Heavyweight Championship against Anthony Yard in a fight set for November.

Fan Take: This upcoming trilogy fight between Fury and Usyk is highly anticipated because it represents a critical battle for heavyweight supremacy, especially on Fury’s home turf. For boxing fans, this match not only promises thrilling competition but also the thrilling narrative of redemption and legacy-building in the heavyweight division.
