Manchester United has advised five players, including Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, to postpone their return to training. This extension aims to give them additional time to secure transfers away from the club, according to ESPN sources.

Alongside Rashford and Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia have all expressed their desire to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Although Reuben Amorim’s squad is set to return to Carrington on Monday, these five players are being granted an extended break to finalize their transfers.

Sources revealed that if their moves do not materialize, they should report back later in July. In the meantime, they will still have access to medical and rehab services, along with remote support.

Rashford may need to relinquish his No. 10 shirt to Matheus Cunha, his prospective replacement. Having not played for United since December, Rashford spent the latter part of last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Antony and Malacia both left United in January, joining Real Betis and PSV Eindhoven, respectively. Sancho, meanwhile, was loaned to Chelsea for most of the season but has shown hesitance to make the move permanent.

United is set to embark on a three-game tour in Chicago after their first summer friendly against Leeds United in Stockholm on July 19th.

Fan Take: This news is crucial for soccer fans as it highlights the ongoing transformative phase at Manchester United, a club with a rich history. The potential departures of key players could reshape the team’s dynamics, impacting their performance in the upcoming season and the broader landscape of the Premier League.
