British UFC Legends Permanently Banned After Taking Cheap Shots at Georges St-Pierre’s Rival Fighters

UFC CEO Dana White issued a lifetime ban to British MMA star Paul Daley following a post-fight punch thrown at Josh Koscheck. Daley, who was once a promising contender for the UFC welterweight title, faced Koscheck at UFC 113 in a high-stakes matchup. While Koscheck used his wrestling skills to secure a unanimous decision over Daley, the fight is best remembered for Daley’s unsportsmanlike strike just after the final bell. As Koscheck was leaving the cage, Daley landed a punch, prompting immediate intervention by referee Dan Miragliotta. Following this incident, Dana White made it clear at the post-fight press conference that Daley would never fight in the UFC again.

Despite the UFC ban, Daley continued his MMA career in other organizations such as Bellator, Strikeforce, and Cage Warriors, eventually retiring after a knockout win at Bellator 281. The UFC has a history of taking a strong stand against fighters who show poor sportsmanship, as seen in the case of Rousimar Palhares, who was released after an unsafe submission hold incident. Meanwhile, some controversial fighters like Nikolei Veretennikov remain on the UFC roster despite calls for suspension. Daley left MMA with a record of 43 wins and 18 losses, including 35 knockouts.

Fan Take: This banning of Paul Daley highlights the UFC’s commitment to maintaining sportsmanship and professionalism inside the cage, setting a clear precedent for fighters. For fans, it serves as a reminder that respect and discipline are just as important as skill, shaping the integrity of the sport going forward.
