Former Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones has reportedly been defrauded out of $2.58 million in a large-scale theft and money laundering operation, according to 10 local news outlets. The accused, former financial advisor Isaiah Williams, exploited his access to Jones’ personal bank accounts and, with the assistance of 49-year-old Octavia Graham, allegedly stole millions to cover credit card payments and sustain a lavish lifestyle. Authorities stated that Williams transferred about $1.58 million through 133 wire transactions from Jones’ accounts between January 2022 and March 2024, even spending money on shopping trips in Mexico. Jones, who spent his entire professional career with the Dolphins and is a two-time Pro Bowler, also lost an additional $1.03 million from October 2019 to September 2021. Graham reportedly sent Williams $435,000 via 16 handwritten checks and $184,000 through 88 additional Zelle transfers.

Graham surrendered to the police this week and faces two counts of money laundering and one of first-degree grand theft. During her court appearance on Friday, a judge set her bail at $75,000 and ordered her to avoid contact with Jones or Williams. She is slated for arrest on July 7th, while Williams remains at large. Despite losing over $2 million, Jones still earned $58 million throughout his 11-year NFL career, where he stood out as a premier defensive player for Miami.

Jones accumulated an impressive 776 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and 21 interceptions. Selected fifth overall in the 2010 NFL Draft, he made the Pro Bowl in 2015 and 2017, leading the league in defensive touchdowns during both seasons. In 2015, he had two pick-sixes, and in 2017 he recorded two fumble return touchdowns, ranking at the top in the NFL.
