Arsenal and Sport Lisbon are reportedly completing transfer negotiations over Swedish striker Victor Gyoker.
Swedish outlet Afton Bredette appears to be the first in the news, but others, such as Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein, are also scrunching the story.
Ornstein reports that Arsenal is in advanced discussions with Sporting as he is about to sign Gyoker on behalf of RB Leipzig Striker Benjamin Sesko.
Meanwhile, see Romano’s video submission. He says that even if it’s not done yet… it could be “go here” for Gyoker to join Arsenal very quickly…
Sesco has been Arsenal’s top target for a long time, but things seemed to be on track at various points, but now that deal certainly appears to be off.
Viktor Gyokeres Transfer: What can the Swedish striker bring to Arsenal?
Gyoker is 27 years old and may not have played in one of Europe’s Big Five Leagues yet, but his goalscoring record in the sport is phenomenal.
The former Coventry City man has scored an astounding 97 goals in 102 games in the sport in total, becoming one of the most coveted strikers on the market this summer.
Other big clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United also wanted Gyoker, but Romano notes that players are prioritized for Arsenal.
Gyokeres statistics and other top strikers
Take a look at the graphics below to see how Gyoker compares to other related centres…
It seems quite a bit that Gyoker says he looks much better than Sesko based on these numbers, but he really has himself against other big names like Alexander Isak and Robert Lewandowski.
Arsenal fans may have some reservations on the deal. And it’s probably fair to expect Gyoker to not score more than 50 goals in British football in a season.
But at the same time, this clearly sees Arsenal being ready to put a lot of trust after the long saga, so fans must trust that they know what they’re doing.
