Monmouth Park has revealed its schedule for the upcoming weekend, with a series of independent events initially reported by the Paulick Report.
The July 4th weekend marks the start of Naira’s turf triples, featuring two local derbies and several contenders on their journey toward the Breeders’ Cup. Saratoga will host three stakes events over this weekend, headlined by the Grade 1 Belmont Derby Invitational, a race over one mile. The following day, the G1 Belmont Oaks Invitational will take place over the same course and distance.
While Saratoga leads the July 4th action, Horseshoe Indianapolis and Prairie Meadows will showcase their biggest race day on July 5th. In Indiana, notable races include the G3 Indiana Derby and G3 Indiana Oaks, while Prairie Meadows highlights its card with the G3 Cornhusker Handicap and the Iowa Derby. Across the country on Saturday, top horses like G1 Derby City Distaff winner Kopion will return at Los Alamitos in the G2 Great Lady M. Stakes, and the G3 Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes, a turf route for mares, will be held at Delaware Park.
