The New York Rangers have signed Brisson to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $100,000 for the minors, with a guaranteed salary of $125,000. Brisson was originally picked by the Golden Knights in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft. He spent most of his time playing for the Henderson Silver Knights in the AHL before being traded to the Rangers in March as part of a deal involving Reilly Smith. At 23 years old, Brisson appeared in 16 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack, recording two goals, four assists, and six points. In the NHL, he has played 24 games, putting up two goals, six assists, and eight points while averaging 11 minutes and 25 seconds of ice time per game.

Fan Take: This signing is a promising move for Rangers fans eager to see young talent develop within their roster. Brisson’s growth could add depth and energy to the team, showcasing the importance of strategic trades and cultivating prospects in today’s competitive hockey landscape.
