The WNBA All-Star Draft occurred on Tuesday, with team leaders Kate Rinklerk and Nafisa Collier picking players from their squads to form their All-Star teams. This event is eagerly awaited in the 2025 season as it highlights the league’s top talent in one exciting showcase.

Clark had the first pick and immediately chose her Indiana Fever teammate, Aliya Boston. She then selected Sabrina Ionsk from the New York Liberty, who is averaging 18.9 points with a shooting accuracy of 33.8%. Following that, Clark drafted Aja Wilson, the reigning MVP and standout player from Las Vegas. To finalize her starting lineup, Clark picked Satau Sabury from the Phoenix Mercury.

Sabury, named an All-Star Starter for the third time in her career, started off with the Dallas Wings in 2020 before moving to Mercury. This season, she’s been impressive with averages of 19.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, shooting 39% from the field and has posted double-digit points in every game.

Although this is Sabury’s first season with the Mercury, her impact has been significant alongside veteran Alyssa Thomas, helping the team achieve a 13-6 record under Collier’s leadership.

The All-Star Game is scheduled for July 19th at Gainbridge Field House in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Fan Take: This All-Star Draft highlights the growing depth and talent in the WNBA, giving fans a thrilling preview of star power on display. It’s an exciting moment that not only celebrates elite athletes but also helps propel the league’s visibility and influence in women’s sports.
