Reports say Manchester United have now begun talks to sign a £52 million midfielder “outside of this world.”
Neville urges Man Utd to sign a new midfielder
The rebuild is on track for Man United, with Matthews Cunya becoming the first major signature of the summer and continuing his running for Brentford’s Brian Mbeumo, but Gary Neville believes several other signatures are needed.
The United legend said: “There’s a big overhaul in the summer. You need at least five to six players to be able to change the direction of how he wants to play. You need at least two forwards, a central midfield player, definitely two wingbacks and another centreback.
The Red Devils are now trapped in a new Central Midfielder, and while it was thought that Valencia’s contract with Javiguera was nearing completion, it has also stepped up the pursuit of the Serie A star.

The Red Devils’ centre-forward pursuit is expected to move quickly.
That said Man United has begun talks over a contract with Atalanta midfielder Adason and has been identified as one of Amorim’s top targets (via football transfer).
The central midfielder is extremely popular, with AC Milan and Juventus submitting their enquiries, but he has many admirers from within the Premier League, including Arsenal, Newcastle United and Chelsea.
While none of the aforementioned UK clubs are expected to make a move, they could open the door for their move to Old Trafford, the deal is not cheap as Italian clubs set a asking price of 60 million euros (£52 million).
Adason can take Man UTD’s midfield to the next level
Former England boss Fabio Capello was very impressed with the Brazilian’s performance last season. “He’s out of this world because of his ability to combine running, physicality, technique and intelligence.”
Central Midfield has recently been a real problem position for the Red Devils, with the struggle since it was well documented at Manuel Ugarte’s Old Trafford, and Jamie Carager suggests that the infamous Casemiro will end at the top level.
With the former Real Madrid man now 33 years old, it is clear that Amorim needs to introduce a long-term alternative, and that the Atalanta star could be a solid option called “the machine” in the middle by journalist Carlo Gargergen.
Ederson could be a great signing from Man United this summer. And given that the proposal to play in the Champions League can appeal to Brazilian International, it’s a boost that Arsenal, Newcastle and Chelsea are not expected to approach.
