Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has added another achievement to her growing list by being named a cover athlete for the WNBA edition of NBA 2K26. She will join Carmelo Anthony and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the featured cover stars for this year.

According to a 2K press release, the WNBA edition with Reese on the cover will be released in the US as a GameStop Exclusive Physical Edition. Reese, along with Anthony and Gilgeous-Alexander, will also appear on the cover of the game’s Reave Noted Edition.

Reese, a former LSU Tiger, follows in the footsteps of WNBA stars like A’ja Wilson who previously graced covers alongside icons such as Candace Parker, Diana Taurasi, and Sabrina Ionescu in this popular video game series.

Since entering the league in the same draft class as college competitor Caitlyn Clark, Reese has made a significant impact. In her rookie season, she averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game, leading the league in rebounds and earning spots on the all-rookie first team and the All-Star roster.

This season, Reese continues her strong performance, averaging a double-double with 13.2 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. She recently secured her second All-Star selection and served as a reserve for Team Napheesa Collier.

Despite Reese’s outstanding play, the Chicago Sky currently rank 12th in the league standings with a 5-13 record.

Fan Take: Angel Reese landing the cover spot on NBA 2K26 is a huge win for WNBA visibility and recognition, highlighting her as one of the league’s brightest stars. This kind of exposure helps bring mainstream attention to the WNBA, inspiring more fans and young athletes while elevating the sport’s status globally.
