Chelsea will face Paris Saint-Germain after two outstanding Joao Pedro goals in the Club World Cup final on Tuesday, beating Fulminence, 24 hours later, after Real Madrid wiped out Real Madrid.

Chelsea have already successfully won the 2024-25 season after competing in the Champions League, winning the UEFA Conference League, but their victory in the Club World Cup final marked the fantastic debut campaign for head coach Enzo Maresca. But to do so, you will need to beat the best teams in the world and the current European champions.

PSG has taken sensational form for the past 12 months, especially in 2025. And it scored goals for Fabien Lewis (X2), Osmane Dembele and Goncaroramos in a dominant 4-0 victory over New Jersey’s Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Chelsea fans around the world were able to find Club World Cup opponents to coincide with the PSG Real Madrid match. It’s safe to say that you’re worried about facing European champions this weekend or that a few of the good ones are still there. One X user asks if Maresca’s side is “cooked”, while another believes that the young Chelsea team cannot live with Parisians.

It’s certainly very difficult for Chelsea to win a victory over PSG. PSG will be the toughest opponent in the Club World Cup. However, in the past, Londoners have demonstrated their ability to win the final against the odds, including two Champions League victories over Bayern Munich and Mann City in 2012 and 2021, respectively.

It remains to be seen how Chelsea will face PSG in the Club World Cup, but Maresca and his players will certainly not be afraid despite their masterclass performance on the League One side with Real Madrid.
