Racing Bulls announced that Alan Permae will immediately and effectively replace Red Bull-bound Laurent Mekies as team principal following the firing of Christian Horner.

Horner was released from his duties at Red Bull on Wednesday morning, and Mekie was promoted to the CEO or Red Bull Race role in his place. As a result of that movement, Palmer (Photo on the left, above photo, meki) He stepped up from sports director to take over the Mekies’ responsibility as the Racing Bulls team principal and worked with Peter Bayer, CEO of the Fenza-based team.

“I am extremely honored to assume the role as Team Principal and would like to thank Oliver (Minzlaf, Managing Director of Red Bull) and Helmut (Marco, Team Advisor). “I look forward to working with Peter and continuing to do the good work that both he and Laurent have moved this team forward. This is a new challenge for me, but I know I can expect the support of everyone in them.”

Palmer joined the Racing Bulls at the start of the 2024 season and worked as a racing director who worked for Enstone under the names of teams Benetton, Renault, Lotus and Alpine. He takes over from Mekies. He says that the permanet is ideally suited to take over him as the Frenchman heads for Red Bull.

“Half of the last year was an absolute privilege to lead Peter and the team,” Mekies said. “It was a great adventure to help bring together all the talented people to the birth of the Racing Bulls, and the whole team’s spirit is incredible and I strongly believe this is just the beginning.

The Racing Bulls skated to seventh in the Constructors Championship after a double DNF at Silverstone on Sunday, but for a long time it was a proven basis for the young Red Bull driver. Yuki Tsunoda was promoted to senior team partner Verstappen earlier this year in place of Liam Lawson.

The change in Red Bull and Racing Bulls team principals means that only Mercedes’ Toto Wolf plays such a role in two or more full seasons. McLaren’s Andrea Stella, Ferrari’s Fred Vasschule and Williams’ James Balls are ahead of the 2023 season.
