Dodgers Safeguard Kobe Bryant Bobblehead Treasures Honoring Lakers Legend

The Los Angeles Dodgers will honor the late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant by giving away a special bobblehead to the first 40,000 fans attending their game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, August 8th. The collectible bobblehead depicts Bryant in a classic Lakers uniform with a Dodger Stadium batter’s box and blue cleats, blending the iconic colors of both the Lakers and Dodgers, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Kobe Bryant spent his entire 20-year NBA career with the Lakers, from the 1996-97 season through 2015-16, leading the team to five NBA championships. Throughout his career, he earned numerous accolades including the 2007-08 NBA MVP award, two NBA Finals MVP awards, two scoring titles, 12 selections to the NBA All-Defensive team, and 15 All-NBA honors. Bryant holds the Lakers franchise record for the most points scored at 33,643, ranking fourth in NBA/ABA history overall. He also recorded 1,827 three-pointers, 1,944 steals, played in 1,346 games, and is second in Lakers history with 6,306 assists.

While the Dodgers currently hold the best record in the National League at 56-38 this season, the Lakers recently exited the playoffs in the first round after a loss to Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Fan Take: This tribute by the Dodgers underscores the deep respect Bryant commands across all sports in Los Angeles, not just basketball. It highlights how Kobe’s legacy transcends basketball, inspiring fans and athletes alike, and reminds us of the unity sports bring to a city.
