Former Bakersfield Condors goaltender Colin Delia has inked a one-year deal with Brynäs in Sweden, as announced on Friday. Hailing from Rancho Cucamonga, California, Delia played the entire 2024-25 season with the Condors, posting a 12-11-5 record, with a 2.76 goals-against average (GAA) and a .906 save percentage.

Turning professional in 2017, Delia has also seen a fair share of NHL action, appearing in 52 games split between the Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks. His NHL stats include a 19-18-7 record, a 3.51 GAA, and a .897 save percentage.

This move to the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) marks Delia’s first professional experience outside North America. Having not played in the NHL since the 2022-23 season, he aims to showcase his skills anew with Brynäs. A strong performance overseas could put him back on the radar of NHL teams seeking to bolster their goaltending depth.

Fan Take: Colin Delia’s move to the SHL is a fresh opportunity for him to rejuvenate his career and prove his capabilities on a new stage. For hockey fans, it’s exciting to see players take diverse paths, which enriches the global nature of the sport and offers new scouting insights for NHL teams.
