  • Liverpool was contacted by Benjamin Sesco’s agent
  • What’s next for Sesco?

The Benjamin Sesco representative reportedly made a sharp turn this summer and established contact with Liverpool following Arsenal’s decision to prioritize other strikers.

The shift came after Arsenal approached securing Viktor Gyoker, opening a window of opportunity for other Premier League suitors, including Reds, to intervene.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal are looking for new strikers this summer, and they have assigned Sesco as one of the players who can improve their team and provide offense to the cutting edge they lack.

Sesko scored 21 goals for German clubs in all competitions last season, showing his quality once again to perform at the highest level, impressing some of the biggest clubs in the process.

According to TBR Football, Sesko’s agents are intended to contact Liverpool for a move to Anfield, as Gunners focuses on signing Gyoker this summer.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United were all contacted by Sesco agents.

The Slovenian striker, who had been heavily linked to the switch to the Emirates throughout the early stages of his summer transfer period, is said to be disappointed with the breakdown in consultations, but he is now thinking about other options in the market.

Importantly, staying at RB Leipzig is not ruled out. The 22-year-old enjoyed a solid campaign in Germany last season.

Leipzig still considers him a valuable asset and the club is happy to keep him in the event that a proper offer is not received this summer.

Moving to the Premier League remains a long-term ambition, but he is open-minded about the next step.

As far as Liverpool is concerned, they have been turning to another Bundesliga attacker, Hugo Ekichike, but now the option to sign Sesco can be a change of mind.
