Fans spotted something interesting about Paige Bueckers before the Fever game, as originally reported by Athlon Sports.

Paige Bueckers is set to compete in the most significant game of her WNBA career to date, with the highly awaited matchup between the Dallas Wings and Indiana Fever scheduled for Sunday.

Earlier this season, Clark missed a game between the Fever and Wings due to injury. She recently made a comeback after another injury break, playing her second game against the Atlanta Dream on Friday. Clark is expected to play against Dallas on Sunday.

On Saturday night, the Wings shared photos on social media showing their players aboard the team plane heading to Indianapolis for the Fever game. However, fans quickly noticed the same thing about Bueckers.

The Wings posted “Wheels to Indie” on Instagram, where several fans focused on the meal Bueckers was carrying on the plane. It appeared to be an Italian sandwich, sparking a flurry of comments on social media.

One Instagram user joked, “I didn’t know that Page was Italian,” followed by others laughing and asking if Paige is Italian. Comments like “Italian subs hate seeing Page come,” and simply “Italian,” circulated among fans.

Bueckers was all smiles as she walked across the tarmac, appearing energized ahead of the crucial game. The Fever, currently on a two-game losing streak, are aiming to improve their 6-15 record.

Related stories include Caitlin Clark’s solo reign in WNBA history, Kate Linklark’s eye-catching outfit, and a candid “ego” speech by Fever coach Stephanie White.

This report first appeared on Athlon Sports on July 13, 2025.
