Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana suffered a hamstring injury and is set to miss the preseason tour.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper faces competition with time as he is suited to the opening game of the Premier League. According to a report by The Telegraph, Manchester United is currently planning to immerse themselves in the transfer market to introduce new goalkeepers.
The player was initially linked to the exit, but Reuben Amorim decides to stick with Onana. He now needs to change his transfer plan.
Is Andre Onana’s injury a blessing of disguise?
Manchester United need another reliable goalkeeper, and injuries could prove to them as a disguise blessing. Cameroon International was extremely overwhelming last season. He needs to be replaced. Manchester United need quality goalkeepers if they are serious about fighting for the trophy.
If they can bring talented alternatives to Onana and make an impression during the preseason, he may be able to hold back the place in the starting lineup.
It is still unknown how the situation will develop. Manchester United have linked multiple goalkeepers over the past few weeks.
On the other hand, Onana has to try and improve if she wants to start Manchester United regularly. He was a reliable goalkeeper during his time in Italy, but he has not been able to adapt to British football before. His error-prone performance sacrificed valuable points on his part.
Man United need quality additions
Manchester United finished in the lower half of the league table last season, and the club of their height should push at least the top four places. It will be interesting to see if they can insert their weaknesses and bounce back hard during the summer transfer period. A reliable goalkeeper could make a big difference for them next season.
They should aim to sign goalkeepers who can start for them each week and ask Onana for improvement.
