Jannik Sinner takes Wimbledon: The official victory of expelling Carlos Alcaraz after France’s open collapse

As Jannik Sinner had a chance for Pataway in Sunday’s Wimbledon Finals, he finished the drill and secured a window of opportunity closed before Carlos Alcaraz matured into another Grand Slam meltdown.

In a disappointing five set French open marathon in the back view, the sinner recovered from losing his first set to Grass Court King on 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to the deserted Tethrone who became his nemesis on the tour.

The world’s No. 1 thinner was the first Italian to win the men’s side at Wimbledon, snapping Alcaraz’s 20-match winning streak in London, dating back to 2023.

“At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter whether I won or lost (in Paris). It was just as important to understand what you did wrong (after the tournament). “That’s exactly what we did. We accepted the loss and just tried to keep working. I’m grateful for my health and there are some great people around me.”

The sinner’s main weapon is his power, strength, speed – and he bent his full repertoire against Alkaraz. His performance in the final three sets was approaching the level of play he had previously reached to launch the French open final against the 22-year-old Spaniard.

This time, the sinner dropped the first set, and initially it seemed he was planning to drop the sixth match on Alkaraz. That’s when I saw multiple of his coaching boxes during the switch, leading to what appears to be some sort of rough changeup.

Thinner began to get closer to the net to fight Alkaraz’s drop, forcing the rest of the fight, turning the corner with a fast forehand from the enemy to the corner. A more consistent serve was also helpful.

Thinner’s shot, one of the most mechanically resonating players on the tour, was not clear last time against Alcaraz, but that changed with worn grass from an All-England lawn tennis club. Several times in the final set, the sinners pushed the issue against him, firing several backhand missiles towards the unprotected Alkaraz.

Unlike the final match, Alcaraz played under pressure for most of his three hours on the court after the sinner won the second set and began to strengthen his resulting grip. This revealed that, according to the Thinner team, he played the whole court to Alcaraz before the match, and this time he wanted to confuse the pattern.

After another break in the fourth set, some fist pumps were commemorating his first major in the grass, with the pastor rocking the hand of the Princess Welsh.

Rivalry is intensifying

Novak Djokovic I don’t know when he’ll follow me Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are retired, but that’s coming. And when it happened, the sinner and Alcaraz were able to further separate themselves from the other packs of male tennis, as the top two players of the game.

It’s hard to imagine players on tour consistently breaking these two at their best. Thinner reached the fourth consecutive major final with two wins, but Alcaraz saw his long grass court victory streak end from his fifth career grand slam.

10 were held in the semi-finals or finals of the tournament, which included five majors, at 13 career meetings that began at the ATP Masters 1000 in Paris in 2021.

“It’s very difficult to play against you, but we have an amazing relationship from the court, and we’re going to keep pushing,” Thinner told Alcaraz in the center court. “You’re going to hold this (the trophy) over and over. There are two already.”
