This summer feels like it will be a big thing for Tottenham Hotspur.
Thomas Frank was in the spotlight following the removal of Ange Postecoglou. In addition to making good progress in the Champions League, he will be tasked with overseeing dramatic improvements to the team’s Premier League form.
The good news is that Daniel Levy and Co seem to be meant to properly support the Danish coach, already having an impressive signature from Mohamed Kudus.
Additionally, the club appears to be determined to introduce Morgan Gibbs White, but links with another Premier League ace that will have an even greater impact on the team.
Tottenham is targeting Premier League scorers
It’s fair to say that when News first violated Spurs’ pursuit to sign Gibbs-White, it was like a surprise.
After all, they just signed Kudus and fans aren’t used to clubs that are so big in the market.
However, although he appears to have activated his £60 million release clause, the deal is currently stagnating, with tricky trees claiming foul play.
It feels like a problem, not when the British join Lily White, but also linked to another Premier League ace that could have a bigger impact next season: Yoane Wissa.
Yes, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke, in the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, the Spurs are very interested in the Brentford star.
But it could be a difficult deal to do, as O’Rourke claims that if Brian Mbuemo moves to Manchester United, the bees will try to block the prolific striker bid.
However, previous reports suggest that an offer of around £50 million could entice Western Londoners to sell, and players are likely keen to move to the N17.
One of the “premier league best striker” in the words of Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, Wissa is worth pursuing, although it could be costly and complicated transfers.
Why does Wissa have a greater impact on Spurs than Gibbs White?
Well, the first thing to say is that both players will be an incredible addition to this Spurs team.
However, at least for next season, I believe Whissa will have a greater impact than Gibbs White, mainly due to locations and their respective outputs.
As things stand, Frank is already able to choose two seriously talented offensive midfielders from his team.
Dejan Kulusevski scored 10 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances last season, while James Madison was even more effective, earning 12 goals and 11 assists in 45 games.
So, despite Gibbswhite making his team stronger, he may struggle to go ahead with the British and Swedes.
In contrast, the only player who could compete with the “incredible” Brentford star, which former manager Thomas Frank regularly dubbed next season is Dominic Solanke, and when comparing their outputs, it’s the Congo ace who wins.
For example, he scored 20 goals and five assists in 39 appearances.

Meanwhile, Solanke scored 16 goals and provided eight assists in 45 appearances.
Ultimately, thanks to his significantly better level of output and a clearer pass to normal game time, Wissa will have a greater impact with the Spurs than Gibbs White next season.
