  • Liverpool reportedly has not been in contact with Alexander Isaac
  • Newcastle is trying to control the story
    • Newcastle probably needs to choose between Hugo Ekitike and Isak

TNT Sports sources are now disputing the claim that Liverpool has contacted Newcastle about Alexander Isaac’s future.

This follows extensive reports from Athletic, Ben Jacobs and Fabrizio Romano.

Each of the Merseysiders was understood to be ready to taper a bid of around £120 million to close the transaction.

Hugo Ekitike is an interesting option for the Reds recruiting team if it becomes clear that Newcastle is not ready to take part in the discussion.

It was a rather explosive afternoon of Liverpool Transfer News. First, the man from Arne Slot reached out to Newcastle to discuss Alexander Isak… and now they haven’t?

TNT Sports also claimed much in its latest tweet on X (formerly Twitter), despite many reputable claims to the contrary.

To be completely fair for TNT, this would be very consistent with the disappointment and Newcastle’s apparent disgust after breaking up with the 27-goal striker.

That said, it’s far from a position on Liverpool’s issues. Existing Premier League champions need new strikers and, on all accounts, are huge admirers of ISAK.

Newcastle is trying to control the story

It’s very difficult to believe that such a reputable source has it all It was wrong in communication between Liverpool and Newcastle.

The much more likely answer to this challenge is that the magpie is trying to regain some degree of control over the story.

They don’t want to be overly seen I’m happy To entertain consultations with key Premier League strikers, it does not exactly help their negotiation position.

Anyway, they have little risk of losing ISAK for a small fee. Swedish International remains in his contract for three years, and Newcastle is not at any time at risk of violating the PSR.

Newcastle probably needs to choose between Hugo Ekitike and Isak

It’s hard to see a world where Newcastle can keep both first choice striker and Hugo Echicque happy.

Sources close to the club claim Eddie Howe will be lining up the pair together. However, unless the British are ready to push out his potential new additions in Frank (where he is not used to), we have a hard time seeing how this move works in reality.

A much more realistic outcome is that Frankfurt starters line up as potential successors to ISAK if the latter is sold.

Either way, given that Liverpool needs a much more new striker, it’s hard to see Newcastle win the Ekitique race, based on their comparative sports projects and available game times.
