Leeds United reportedly hopes to sign Dominique Calvert Lewin on a free transfer this summer.

The 28-year-old is a free agent after his contract with Everton expired earlier this summer. He is expected to join the English club this summer, and it is still unclear where he will end.

Leeds can use more quality and depth with attacking units, and experienced strikers could prove to be a sensible addition. Signing him with a free transfer could prove to be a wise decision.

Calvert Lewin also links his surprise move towards Manchester United.

Journalist Graeme Bailey revealed on TBR:

“Leeds is one of those teams that already have a decent team and they have done what they need to be.

“Even if the season starts tomorrow, they won’t be desperately disappointed with what they have. They are wise to see what they are doing and what comes to them.”

It will be interesting to see if Leeds can convince the strikers to join in with a free transfer. That could be the ideal move for players too. He is also on the radar of clubs like Newcastle United.

Calvert-Lewin is not at his best in recent seasons and is trying to get his career back on track with regular football. Leeds was able to provide him with the opportunity he needed.

If he can return to his best, he could become an asset for the club next season. Signing him on a free transfer will allow Leeds to invest in other areas of the team as well.

The striker is still so many in the best years of his career, he aims to compete at a high level. Leeds wants to establish themselves as a regular in the Premier League, and they could be an attractive destination.

Calvert-Lewin has a lot of experience, with 71 goals and 22 assists in 273 games for Everton.
