Katherine Legge has further expanded her 2025 NASCAR schedule by adding the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, driving the No. 78 Chevrolet for Live Fast Motorsports in her fifth Cup Series race of the year. This effort will be backed by Desnooda Organic Tequila and Indiana-based venture studio Droplight. Legge had already planned to compete in Saturday’s Xfinity race with the No. 32 Jordan Anderson Racing Chevrolet and brings a wealth of experience at the IMS oval—although not in stock cars—with four Indianapolis 500 starts between 2012 and 2024, achieving a best finish of 22nd.
Additionally, she removed the Richmond Raceway Cup event from her 2025 schedule and replaced it with the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 12, which is expected to be her final start for the season, totaling 13 races across the Cup and Xfinity series. Legge made her Cup debut at Phoenix in March, a race that ended in a crash, but by doing so, she became the first woman in a Cup race since Danica Patrick competed in the 2018 Daytona 500. Her best Cup finish so far is 19th, achieved on the Chicago Street Course after qualifying ahead of Corey Heim from 23XI Racing. She also competed in road course events in Mexico City and Sonoma Raceway.
This year, Legge has participated in five Xfinity races but has faced four DNFs due to crashes, with her best finish being 32nd. She is determined to improve her performance when the series returns to Indianapolis Motor Speedway next weekend.
Fan Take: Katherine Legge’s expanding presence in both the Cup and Xfinity Series highlights the growing opportunities and competitiveness for women in NASCAR. Her experiences, especially tackling iconic tracks like Indianapolis, bring valuable diversity and excitement to the sport, signaling a promising future for broader inclusivity and talent in stock car racing.
