The EFE reports that the Spanish Ministry of Social Rights has initiated an investigation into the 18th birthday celebration of Stalamin Yamal, which took place in Barcelona.
The ministry is seeking inquiries from the prosecutor’s office, the Spanish Ombudsman, and the office dedicated to combatting hate crimes to determine whether any laws have been violated through the party’s activities, particularly concerning individuals with disabilities.
Yamal celebrated his milestone birthday on July 13 and held a private party outside Barcelona the following Saturday.
Guests were prohibited from filming with their mobile phones, but videos later surfaced on social media showing individuals with dwarfism arriving at the venue.
In response to the images, associations in Spain focused on chondroplasia and other skeletal dysplasias condemned the use of performers with dwarfism as entertainers.

In a statement, the ADI association asserted that this practice contradicts current laws and fundamental ethical standards, emphasizing the need for legal and social measures to protect the dignity of people with disabilities.
One performer, who opted to remain anonymous, defended their right to work as an entertainer, stating they were treated with dignity at the event.
“No one disrespected us; we were allowed to work peacefully,” they shared in an interview with RAC1. “I don’t see why there’s such a fuss. We are just regular people pursuing our passion legally.”
“For years, these groups (like ADI) have tried to impair us, preventing us from doing what we love, all while refusing to provide jobs or training for affected individuals.”
“We work as entertainers. Why should we be restricted? We perform, we create shows, and we were treated like everyone else at the party. Everyone had a great time.”
This uproar seems to stem solely from the fact that it was a Ramin Yamal celebration.
Yamal returned to preseason training with Barça shortly after the party wrapped up, following the completion of the 2024-25 campaign.
This Spanish international has already netted 25 goals in over 100 appearances for the Catalan club, contributing to Barcelona’s victories in La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Supercopa last year.
