Major League Soccer announced on Wednesday that Charlotte FC will host the 2026 MLS All-Star Game at Bank of America Stadium.

This marks a historic moment for the North Carolina expansion team, which began competing in MLS in 2022, as it will be their first time hosting such an event. Details regarding the date and the opponent for the league’s 30th All-Star Game will be revealed at a later time.

For 2025, Inter Miami CF saw players Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba named to the 26-man All-Star roster, set to compete against top talent from La Liga MX at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas on July 23rd.

MLS had a strong track record against La Liga MX until 2024, when the latter triumphed 4-1 in a match held at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio.

Throughout its first three seasons, Charlotte FC has boasted the second-highest attendance in MLS, averaging 35,000 fans.

Bank of America Stadium also hosted four matches during the 2025 Club World Cup.

Fan Take: This news is a significant milestone for Charlotte FC and the broader MLS community, as hosting the All-Star Game elevates the profile of soccer in the region.
