Daniel Dubois Gears Up to Ignite “Chaos” in Showdown with Oleksandr Usyk

LONDON – Daniel Dubois expressed that he plans to create confusion against Oleksandr Usyk in their highly anticipated heavyweight title fight on Saturday, similar to the way he defeated Anthony Joshua at the same venue last September.

The two fighters came face-to-face at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday, igniting the buildup to their heavyweight showdown. The atmosphere was charged with tension as Usyk’s team chanted “Usyk, Usyk,” while Dubois’ team responded loudly with “Welcome to England” and “We are in London, we are in Poland.”

Dubois appeared determined and focused, aiming to become the new undisputed heavyweight champion. He confidently stated that he expects to replicate his victory over Joshua by defeating Usyk at Wembley.

“Yeah, raise the heat, bring confusion, restore order with victory—that’s what I have to do,” Dubois told the press, adding that he’s ready for any challenge Usyk’s team throws his way.

Dubois also shared his aspiration to join the ranks of boxing legends like Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, and Rocky Marciano with a win on Saturday. Meanwhile, Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) previously beat Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) in August 2023 but now faces a more experienced and improved opponent in Dubois.

More than 90,000 fans are expected to attend, hoping to witness the first universally accepted heavyweight clash on British soil. Promoter Warren noted, “It’s the battle they both wanted, and both believe they’re going to win.”

Warren emphasized that this Dubois is very different from the one who fought Usyk last year, saying, “Last time it was a boy Daniel, now it’s the man Daniel. Usyk is widely regarded as the best heavyweight of his generation, but he’s yet to face a challenger like Dubois.”

He concluded, “I think it’s Daniel’s time to step up, and he has what it takes to win on Saturday.”

Fan Take: This matchup holds immense significance for boxing fans as it pits two fierce warriors, each hungry to cement their legacy. A victory for Dubois could disrupt the heavyweight hierarchy and inject fresh excitement into the sport’s premier division.
