According to a recent report, Manchester United are currently discussing signing one of the first team stars with Aston Villa.

Man Utd is chasing midfield reinforcements

Since Matheus Cunha arrived, United’s sole focus has been to secure a deal with Brentford’s Brian Mbeumo. Cameroon International is the top target for Reuben Amorim, and the Red Devils are trying to secure a transfer while they don’t pay the odds.

The Red Devils approached for the midfielder…

But they continue to try to find an agreement, but the Premier League has reportedly identified another position they want to strengthen this summer. Christian Eriksen’s departure left a place to fill in the middle of the park, and United have assigned two options so far.

Earlier in the week, Football Insider reported that United was in a race against Everton and signing Wilfred Ndidi.

It has since been reported that Man Utd has begun talking to Corentin Tolisso’s agents, allowing us to understand whether he is interested in moving to Old Trafford. The Frenchman is now a starman from Lyon, but is said to be keen to leave his hometown and join the Red Devils.

In addition to signing a new midfielder, there was speculation that the Premier League giants could try to sign a new goalkeeper this summer amid questions about Andre Onana’s shape and fitness. And according to journalist Gaston Edl, Man United is currently in negotiations with Aston Villa about Emi Martinez’s signature.

Edul, known as “probably Argentina’s most well-known football journalist,” claims United is moving forward with their interest, but has yet to make an official offer to the villa, who is said to be trying to win around £40 million in Argentina International. United wants to agree to a deal close to the £33 million mark.

The Red Devils are well packed into the goalkeeper division. With neither Onana nor Altai Beyindil left the club yet, Onana picked up a hamstring injury that she expected to miss everything before the season. Cameroon International also made some costly mistakes last season, resulting in him being dropped in a Premier League match under Amorim.

Martinez, who has been called “world class” by Pandit Gary Neville in the past, has already been reported to be open to travel to Old Trafford, even if the club is not in the Champions League this season. The 32-year-old is still on a contract until 2029, so even with players moving, the villa doesn’t easily get upset in negotiations.
