Bill Belichick UNC Docuseries to Find New Home on Hulu After HBO’s Hard Knocks Deal Falls Through

Following Bill Belichick’s tenure at the University of North Carolina, a new series about his journey is reportedly set to premiere on Hulu before his first season coaching the Tar Heels. The exact release dates have yet to be announced by Front Office Sports.

The series is said to be produced by Everwonder Studio, known for their work on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match and the NFL Christmas Day game available on Netflix.

Previously, Belichick and North Carolina were supposed to be featured in HBO’s Hard Knock series, but the deal fell through after Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, demanded both approval rights and partial ownership of the show’s content, according to the New York Times. Hudson also reportedly discussed the series production with Everwonder during talks with HBO.

The show’s official title remains a mystery, but CBS Sports revealed that Hudson’s company, Trouble Cub Enterprises, has trademarked several possible titles, including “Chapel Bill’s Version,” “Do Your Job: (Bill’s Version),” and “No Days Off (Bill’s Version),” all seemingly inspired by Grammy-winning artist Taylor Swift.

Hudson attracted media attention due to their notable 48-year age difference. She paused a Belichick interview in June during the promotion of his book, The Art of Winning. CBS correspondent Tony Docpile described Hudson as “a constant presence,” and during the interview, she interrupted Belichick with, “We’re not talking about this,” when questioned on how they met.

Belichick took the UNC coaching job in December after failing to secure a position in the NFL. His NFL coaching legacy includes six Super Bowl victories as head coach of the New England Patriots and two more as an assistant with the New York Giants. He now leads the Tar Heels following the firing of the previous head coach, McBrown, six years ago.

Fan Take: This upcoming series offers NFL fans a rare glimpse into the next chapter of one of football’s most legendary coaches. Watching Belichick transition from NFL dominance to college football could reshape narratives around coaching legacies and inspire a fresh wave of interest in the sport’s grassroots level.
