Newcastle United are trying to improve their attack forces with Yorn Wissa’s signature, but players prefer to join Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report from Talksport, Brentford doesn’t want the 28-year-old to leave the club this summer. It will be interesting to see if Newcastle and Tottenham can convince them to sell strikers.
Newcastle can use Whissa
The attacker was very impressive for Brentford last season, with him scoring 20 goals in all competitions. Wissa could greatly improve Newcastle. They were overly dependent on Alexander Isaac last season. However, they are qualifying for the Champions League next season, and they need more depth in their teams. They cannot resort to one striker to carry them throughout the season.
Wissa has the quality to play for a bigger club. He is trying to prove himself in the Champions League if a transfer occurs.
Tottenham Keene is Yorn Wissa
Similarly, Tottenham needs more depth in attacks as well. Dominique Solanke was overwhelmed last season and needs more help with the offensive unit.
The Spurs currently have Thomas Frank as manager. Wissa is a standout for Frank while together at Brentford, and the reunion will be exciting for both parties.
It will be interesting to see which of the two clubs persuaded Brentford to sell the player. They wouldn’t want to lose multiple key players in one window. Brian Mbemo is already heading for Manchester United and Brentford will want to keep Wissa at the club.
Players may have to force an exit to perform the move. He is at that stage of his career and this could be his last chance to join a big club. It is still unknown what he has decided.
