        • Amorim’s own Rodri: Man Utd agrees to personal terms and signs the sense of £26 million

Manchester United continued their pre-season preparations on Saturday in a rather monotonous draw with Premier League side Leeds United.

Reuben Amorim’s team featured two new signatures at Diego Leon and Masteus Cunha, but the Red Devils are still completing the deal to sign Brentford’s Brian Mbeumo.

There will be a lot of focus on who will be taking part in Manchester United to strengthen their team during the summer transfer period, but the club will also need to move to players who will not be involved in Amorim next season.

As Barcelona agreed to a deal to sign England International, one of those players, Marcus Rashford, appears to be on the verge of travelling away from Old Trafford.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona will sign the 27-year-old attacker on an in-season loan.

David Ornstein added that the Spanish giants are expected to pay 100% of the forward’s wages during that loan spell, which comes as a welcome bailout to Manchester United.

Why Rashford to Barcelona is a good move for everyone involved

Rashford is £300,000 per Capology at Old Trafford for £300,000 a week, equivalent to about £15.6 million a year.

It is not set on stone for Winger to sign Barcelona on a permanent transfer next summer, but that’s what he was not part of Amorim’s idea, so we can thank them that they haven’t paid his huge wages next season.

As Rashford was not consistent enough in the last third to prove that it was worth spending such money, it is money that could be allocated elsewhere, and could result in further intensification that attacks.

England International was rented to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.

As you can see in the table above, Rashford has failed to hit double-digit goals in all competitions in two of the last four seasons, costing less than £1.4 million per goal scored in the season in the last four.

These statistics suggest that English forwards are best to join Barcelona on loan. His wages will be paid in full.

His exit is also reportedly creating space for the team to bring his replacement before the end of the summer transfer window, with the club being eyeing the stars who can upgrade him.

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United are interested in a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s versatile attacker, Randall Coro Muani.

The reporter claims that the Red Devils are already in contact with the League One champion as they are pursuing a potential transfer for France International.

However, Ouna adds that Newcastle United also contacted PSG about a potential deal for the forward.

A journalist’s article on Foot Mercato also reveals that Juventus is interested in a deal that will bring him back to Turin after lending the second half of the Italian giants with the Italian giants.

This latest report does not outline how much money it will cost to launch a deal with Colo Muani’s PSG, but it mentioned a £50 million price tag in the first half of the summer.

Why should Man UTD sign Randal Kolomuani?

The Red Devils will be able to arrive at Old Trafford as an upgrade to Marcus Rashford, so they will have to push to win the race for his signature in the coming weeks.

Soon, like Barcelona players, the French attacker is a versatile talent who can play widely, either on the flank or central, providing Amorim with many ways to harness his qualities.

In fact, French teammate Kylian Mbappe described Colo Mooani as a “very complete” advance, and United could benefit from his great all-around play as a new centre forward if he could secure a deal for him this summer.

The 26-year-old star scored eight goals and provided one assist in 16 games in Serie A late in the previous term, but Rashford only scored six goals in 25 outings in the Premier League.

As you can see in the table above, Juventus lenders were excellent as dribblers and scorers, which produced high quality on many important metrics.

With one assist, the creative side of his game was not fully displayed, but Koro Muani supported Entracht Frankfurt with 17 goals in 46 games in the 2022/23 campaign.

The £50 million star, who scored two goals in three games at the Club World Cup, has achieved at least 10 goals in each of the last five seasons, but as mentioned earlier, Rashford managed it over the past four years.

Colo Muani was able to arrive as an upgrade for England International due to Juventus’ impressive form later last season and his near-guaranteed goal that suggests he will offer in the final third.
