According to Tuttosport, Juventus is reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz during his current transfer period.
The 29-year-old Colombian signed a new contract with Crystal Palace in April, putting the London Club in a strong negotiating position. The palace is not under pressure on sales and could demand a considerable fee if Juventus moves forward with their interest.
Can Juventus buy Daniel Munoz?
The Italian giants are working within financial constraints this summer, as they are trying to strengthen multiple sectors of their team. Despite his tactical needs, they are unlikely to overpay Munoz.
It may not be that difficult to convince players to join. Juventus is one of Europe’s most historic clubs, and the opportunity to play in Serie A and compete for major trophies could appeal to Munoz. However, with just signing an extension of the contract, the defender is not expected to drive the move.
Crystal Palace could lose multiple key players
Crystal Palace risks losing multiple key players this summer. Eberechi Eze was attracting attention, and Marc Guéhi was able to leave in the final year of his contract. The palace is less likely to let too many core players go in one window, allowing Munoz to be sold.
Still, Juventus was able to test the palace’s resolve with a serious offer in the coming weeks.
The Colombian defender is at the peak of his career and is able to quickly offer value to Juventus. His defensive solidity and offensive contributions will make him a versatile option for the Italian club.
For Juventus, who is aiming to bounce back after a disappointing few seasons, adding an experienced and reliable player like Munoz is essential for pushing back to the top of Italian football.
