Keegan Bradley – Bryson Deccanbo creates a Ryder Cup team

Bryson Deccanbaugh will represent the United States at this year’s Ryder Cup, whether he has secured an automatic qualifying spot for the event.

US team captain Keegan Bradley confirmed to Sports Illustrated on Sunday that if the Levi Golf Star falls outside the top six spots in the Ryder Cup standings, he will use one of his six picks at Dedanbaud.

“Bryson will be a very important piece for us who have won the Ryder Cup,” Bradley told Sports Illustration on Sunday night in a text message. “He brings a lot. He brings energy, passion, but most importantly, he is one of the best players on the planet.”

Bradley’s confirmation against Sports Illustrated comes hours after DeChambeau fired a Par 64 under 64 to complete an impressive weekend with the Royal Portrush.

Deccanbo remained fifth in the US Ryder Cup standings behind open champions Scotty Schaufferer, Zander Schauffere, JJ Span and Russell Henry. Open runner-up Harris English rose to sixth in his latest ranking on Monday morning.

However, DeChambeau will not be able to rank for the Ryder Cup. Because he only plays at LIV golf events before the roster is finalized. PGA Tour golfers have four events that allow you to secure your Ryder Cup Points.

The top six golfers in the ranking will be automatically qualified for the team, followed by the selection of six Bradley captains. The US team will host Europeans from September 26th to September 28th at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, New York.

Deccanbo said on Sunday that he hopes to bring in a lot of energy and tsunamis for the crowd cheering for Team USA.

After being on the losers (2018) and the winning side (2021) of the two Ryder Cup teams, Deccanbeau was not part of the US team that lost to the Europeans in 2023.

Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka was the only player of Liv Golf to compete in the US team that lost to the Europeans 16½-11½ in Rome in 2023.

“I’m kidding this year,” Deccanbeau said. “We’re tired of it. We’re tired of losing.”
